COMMON QUESTIONS

Admissions at Tradecraft, answered

Everything you need to know before you apply or schedule a tour.

How do I apply to Tradecraft Schools?
You can apply online, by text, or by phone at (210) 998-2000. The application takes less than 2 minutes, and our admissions team will work around your schedule to get it done.
Do I need experience to apply?
No. About 95% of Tradecraft students start with no prior experience in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing. You need a high school diploma or GED and to be at least 18 years old. Day one starts with the basics, no background assumed.
What happens after I submit my application?
Our team reviews your application within 48 hours and reaches out to schedule a short introductory call. From there, most students schedule a campus tour before committing to a start date. This is the beginning of a relationship, not a one-time transaction.
Is the campus tour required before I apply?
No, but it's recommended. Many students apply first and tour after their intro call, while others prefer to see the lab and meet an instructor before applying. Tours are free, take about an hour, and come with no pressure or commitment.
What happens once I'm enrolled?
After your deposit is made, your student portal goes live. You'll complete an enrollment checklist, review important start-date documents, and get your orientation time and campus address. Orientation runs 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM on your program's start date, and your instructor will be there to greet you.
What are the requirements to enroll?
You must be at least 18 years old, hold a high school diploma or GED, have reliable transportation to campus, be able to commit to Monday through Friday attendance from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and pass a standard employment background check.
How long does the admissions process take from application to start date?
It varies by cohort availability, but most students move from application to an accepted seat within a week or two. Lab capacity is limited each cohort, so applying early gets you first pick of available start dates.
